Stefan Nielsen is placed in Mt. Clemens, working with the Macomb County Department of Planning and Economic Development. He is excited to work with the planning staff and other county/municipal departments on workforce transition, establishing connections with the county’s nonprofit and philanthropic centers, redevelopment and/or reuse of the Romeo Ford Engine Plant, among other initiatives. Coming from Farmington and living in Metro Detroit for most of his life, he is invested in the region’s future and the success of its people and industries. Stefan holds a bachelor’s degree in History from Kalamazoo College and a master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Michigan. He is currently working towards his American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) Certification. His focuses range from zoning and transportation to community development and housing.
