Joey Foster is placed in the Village of Calumet, a small, historic mining community located in the heart of the Keweenaw Peninsula. He is most excited to assist Village Manager Megan Haselden in achieving RRC Certification, as well as planning events commemorating the 150th anniversary of Calumet. Joey offers experience in community development from his work with the Refugee and Immigration Services (RAIS) in Anchorage, as well as his extensive background in sustainable agriculture and community food security. He hopes to continue his work in sustainable development on a global scale through international agencies like the World Food Programme.
