Sadiq Dahir Edo-Abdi is heading back to the Upper Peninsula to be the community development fellow in Hancock. Abdi graduated from Northern Michigan University in 2019 and majored in Environmental Studies and Sustainability. Previously, he worked as an Economic Development Research Assistant under the Director of the Northern Michigan University’s Center for Rural Community and Economic Development. Through his volunteer work, Abdi discovered a love for working in small towns and rural communities and has a keen interest in public transportation, sustainable community development, and human-environment interaction.
Abdi is a self-proclaimed novice in the Community and Economic Development field but cannot wait to immerse himself in the local community and get to work. The most important thing for him is to perform public service and make a difference wherever he goes during his career.
