Shate’ja Curry, Community Development Fellowship Program Manager

As the Community Development Fellowship program manager, Shate’ja manages the day-to-day of the statewide program that strives to increase the capacity of municipalities engaged in the Redevelopment Ready Communities process. Her work includes leading recruitment, selection, placement, training, managing the budget, and program development. Shate’ja supports the fellows through resource sharing, providing guidance, and offering opportunities for additional growth to encourage their success.

Prior to joining CEDAM, Shate’ja worked at the Washtenaw County Trial Court’s probate and juvenile divisions as a deputy court clerk. She has also worked with the Michigan Department of Attorney General’s Civil Rights Division and at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital.

Shate’ja has a Bachelor of Arts in urban and regional studies from the University of Michigan with a concentration in urban problems and policy. She is excited to be able to combine her love of public service and passion for communities through this role.
