Rachel Diskin, Associate Director & Chief Talent Officer

As Associate Director & Chief Talent Officer, Rachel’s goal is to keep CEDAM an attractive and competitive place to work. This includes fostering an inclusive workplace culture and leading human resource activities. One of her favorite parts of the job is providing opportunities for CEDAM members to develop and grow alongside CEDAM. She directly manages the director of capacity building and provides oversight to CEDAM’s AmeriCorps, MI Healthy Climate Corps, Community Development Fellowship, and MI Mobility Fellows programs.

During her time at CEDAM, Rachel has grown the AmeriCorps team from a team of one to a team of four while improving the program’s fiscal solvency. She created the organization’s first hiring process, set and exceeded hiring goals, and authored the proposal that brought CEDAM the Community Development Fellowship.

Before joining CEDAM in 2012, Rachel worked as a program coordinator at the Ohio Association of Foodbanks and served two years in AmeriCorps VISTA. She has a bachelor’s of urban and regional planning from Michigan State University. In her free time, she’s either outdoors with her dog and husband or baking a sweet treat. She loves reading and considers herself a community development nerd.
