Ross H. Yednock, Program Director of the MEIC

Ross is the Program Director of the Michigan Economic Impact Coalition at CEDAM. He is responsible for directing the coalition’s policy, communications and advocacy and supporting the work of its members strengthening communities by financially empowering working families and individuals to achieve lasting and sustainable financial security and self-sufficiency.

The Michigan Economic Impact Coalition (MEIC) is a diverse coalition made up of free tax preparation service providers, financial educators, asset building practitioners, community-based organizations and collaborations, individuals, government agencies and others interested in helping to financially empower Michigan taxpayers. The MEIC unites individuals, organizations and local initiatives committed to supporting tax credit and asset building opportunities for Michigan families through improved access to free, quality, income tax preparation assistance.

Ross holds a B.A. in International Relations from the James Madison College at Michigan State University and a Master’s of Public Administration from Western Michigan University. Before joining CEDAM’s staff in 2008, Ross spent ten years working in state government and campaign management including positions as the executive assistant to former Attorney General Jennifer M. Granholm, director of communications to former State Senator Gary C. Peters and legislative aide to State Representative Alma Wheeler Smith. Ross also worked for both the Michigan House and Senate Democratic Caucuses as an analyst and communications specialist and speechwriter.

Ross is experienced in coalition building and management and well-versed on a variety of public policy issues including: the Michigan State Budget, tax policy, corrections, education, health care, tax policy, economic development, financial education, financial services and asset building.
