As CEDAM’s Communication and Training Specialist, Lisa creates and interconnects messages, resources and training striving to tell stories, spark curiosity and inspire action. Curious by nature, a problem-solver and adventure-enthusiast, she thrives on the integration of logic and art into her work to create meaningful results. She works to deliver valuable information that is educational and gets people thinking. Lisa does this through marketing, graphic design, communications and digital educational resource development.
Lisa has expertise and can provide technical assistance in graphic design, branding, marketing and communications. She has customized and delivered branding and marketing workshops, and has worked with various groups to help improve outreach to target markets through graphic design and message development.
Lisa earned a Bachelor of Science in Urban and Regional Planning with a specialization in GISciences from Michigan State University in 2004, and an Associates in Applied Arts in Graphic Design from Lansing Community College in 2010 and an M.B.A. in E-Business through Eastern Michigan University in 2015. Before coming to CEDAM, she worked with the Michigan Department of Transportation as a Map Designer from 2003-2012. In addition to customized maps, she redesigned and managed the State of Michigan’s mapping publications available at rest areas and welcome centers. Lisa does contract graphic design and illustration work and has participated in community driven public art programs including Lansing’s City Streets Exhibit in 2011 and Grand Rapid’s ArtPrize in 2012. Lisa served on the Board of Directors and various committees for the Saginaw Oakland Commercial Association (previously the Westside Commercial Association) as an integral part of capacity building and community organizing efforts from 2009-2014. Lisa has also served on the Saginaw Street Corridor Improvement Authority from 2011-2014.
