As the AmeriCorps program coordinator, Shate’ja works closely with the director of capacity building and program managers for both CEDAM’s AmeriCorps and the Community Development Fellowship to meet the needs of our program participants and provide administrative assistance.
Prior to joining CEDAM, Shate’ja has a background in public service. She worked at the Washtenaw County Trial Court’s probate and juvenile divisions as a deputy court clerk. She has also worked with the Michigan Department of Attorney General’s Civil Rights Division and at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital.
Shate’ja has a Bachelor of Arts in urban and regional studies from the University of Michigan with a concentration in urban problems and policy. She is excited to combine her love of public service and passion for communities in this role.
