Lisa Evans joined Community Action of Allegan County as Executive Director in October 2013.
With over 31 years’ experience in non-profit and public service administration, Lisa holds expertise in nonprofit/public administration, strategic planning, organizational transformation, program development, marketing/fund development, issue advocacy, campaign finance, community engagement and board development.
Prior to joining Community Action, Lisa was Executive Director of the Ronald McDonald House of Western Michigan from 2007 to 2012. Before her time with the Ronald McDonald House, Lisa was Owner and Managing Partner of Fletcher Evans & Associates, LLC, specializing in non-partisan political and not-for-profit fund-raising and strategic planning. Prior to establishing her firm, Lisa worked as Finance Director for the Michigan House Republican Campaign Committee and served three Speakers of the Michigan House of Representatives as Director of Special Projects. In this capacity, Lisa was State Coordinator for the National Council of State Governments, Chair of the Michigan Youth & Government Public Relations Committee, and a member of the Michigan American Red Cross Government Relations and State Communication Committee(s). Before her work in the political arena, Lisa served as Executive Director of the Gratiot County American Red Cross in Alma, Michigan, from 1990-1998. Lisa’s breadth of experience in the non-profit and public sector(s) has provided her a unique perspective on the challenges facing low-income seniors, children and families. Inspired by work with members of our state’s Health Policy Committee(s), the Michigan Medical Coalition, multi-client lobby firms, and the volunteer missions of Ronald McDonald House Charities and the American Red Cross; Lisa continues her passion for public service.
As Executive Director of Community Action of Allegan County, Lisa applies her experience in support and advocacy for individuals, families and children living at or just above federal poverty. Lisa serves as the Chair for the Michigan Community Action Association Board of Directors, a member of Michigan State Housing Development Authority’s State-wide Housing Task Force, the Past Chair of the Allegan County Multi-Agency Collaborative Council, is a member of the Area Agency on Aging of Western Michigan Advocacy Committee, and Michigan Community Action Association Strategic Planning, Legislative, and State Conference Planning Committee(s).
She is a member of Michigan State University Extension District 7 Extension Board a Directors, a member of the Healthy Allegan County Coalition, Allegan County Local Planning Body, Allegan County United Way Community Assessment Committee, and Fund Development Chair for the Allegan County Senior Millage Committee. Lisa attended Central Michigan University; holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Interpersonal/Public Communications and Master of Arts emphasis in Organizational Communication. Lisa lives in Saugatuck, Michigan enjoys golf, theatre, painting, and travel.
