Born in Washington D.C., and raised in Evanston, Illinois, Jonathan Stimson is a descendant of Lewis Cass, Governor of the Territory of Michigan. After receiving his bachelor’s degree from the University of San Diego, he worked for a mortgage banking firm in Santa Ana, California called Westmark and became involved in Developer Financial Services by linking developers with short- and long-term debt. During that time, he also obtained his Real Estate Sales and Appraiser License.
After moving to Leland, MI in 1996, Jon received a Residential Builder’s License and became a General Contractor for the next 20 years.
Stimson was appointed as Executive Director of Homestretch Nonprofit Housing Corp. in 2018. He’s married with 3 children ages 13, 15 and 17. Jim has served 10 years on his local Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals and is currently serving on his local Board of Review. Jon is considered a workaholic by friends and enjoys nothing more than being at home on the weekend with the family.
