DeAmo currently works as a Board Relations Professional covering S.E. Michigan. For the last two years, he served as Senior Director–Strategic Partnership for Banks & Company (Detroit). Concurrently, he provided Community Partnerships Advisory services to National Faith Homebuyers and Interim Executive Director services to the Intercultural Community Center–Dearborn (ICCD).

From 2018-2024, he was the Director of External Affairs for Opportunity Resource Fund (OppFund), a CDFI serving all of Michigan. There, he was responsible for enhancing the public profile/brand recognition, assisting with investor relations, and playing a key role in cultivating and maintaining partner/stakeholder relationships with individuals, corporations, government entities, foundations, financial institutions, and faith-based organizations. He also developed and facilitated OppFund’s Justice Fund Initiative.

DeAmo has more than 30 years of political, nonprofit, and community relations experience, which includes work on two Presidential campaigns and a dual Political and Field Director role for a US Senate campaign (MN). He has held positions with the Wayne County Commission, Project Vote, Michigan Legislature. He has also served as a Campaign Manager, Political Consultant/Advisor/Strategist, Political Commentator (Talk Radio), and held top leadership roles with two additional local NPOs.

DeAmo is a member of the Detroit Master Plan Advisory Group and has previously served on the Policy Committees for both the Detroit and Michigan CDFI Coalitions. He majored in Psychology at Tuskegee University and is a Certified Life Coach (HCI) with added training from Wellstone Institute, the Center for Progressive Leadership, and the Gamaliel Foundation.
