DeAmo Murphy, National Faith Homebuyers (NFH) — At Large


DeAmo Murphy is currently the Community Partnerships Advisor to National Faith Homebuyers (NFH), He is also a Senior Director – Strategic Partnership for Banks & Company (Detroit), and provides Interim Executive Director services to the Intercultural Community Center – Dearborn (ICCD). 

From 2018-2024 he was the Director of External Affairs for Opportunity Resource Fund (OppFund), a CDFI serving all of Michigan. There, he was responsible for enhancing the public profile/ brand recognition, assisting with Investor Relations and played a key role in cultivating and maintaining partner/stakeholder relationships with individuals, corporations, government entities, foundations, financial institutions, and faith-based organizations. DeAmo also developed and facilitated OppFund’s Justice Fund Initiative (JFI), with a focus on the JFI Roundtable, Outreach, and Community Education. 

He has over 30 years of political, non-profit, and community relations experience, which includes positions with the Wayne County Commission, Project Vote, Michigan Legislature, and NAACP (State Conf.-MI). He has served as a Lead Strategist/Campaign Manager/Consultant, Political Commentator (Talk Radio), and held top leadership roles for two local NPOs. 

He majored in Psychology at Tuskegee University and is a certified Life Coach (HCI) with added training from Wellstone Institute, the Center for Progressive Leadership, and the Gamaliel Foundation.

DeAmo is a state-wide at-large board member of CEDAM in his second term. He was previously a member of the policy committees for both the Detroit and Michigan CDFI Coalitions.
