Barbara Sistrunk is the Executive Director of Summit Financial Wellness, a local non-profit that focuses on financial literacy. She is a lifelong resident of Southwest Michigan with over 17 years of leadership experience in nonprofit roles throughout the community.
Prior to Summit, she served as Director of Strategic Partnerships with the Strategic Leadership Council. Her experience includes project management, strategic planning, and innovative workforce and education programs. Barbara is a thought leader who believes that strong community partnerships are vital to sustainable change.
Barbara believes in the power of education and the transformational results it can bring to a community. She currently serves on the Board of the Heritage Museum & Cultural Center, Benton Harbor Promise Zone Authority/Benton Harbor Promise Foundation and The Avenue Family Network. She has served as past president of the Benton Harbor Area Schools Board, as a member of the Benton Harbor Downtown Development Authority and co-chaired the Women’s Health Council of Benton Harbor.
Barbara holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Bethel University in Organizational Management. She is a SHRM Certified Professional, and a member of the local and international SHRM. She earned a certificate in Financial Coach Master Training from Ramsey Financial Coaching.
