Andrea manages CEDAM’s AmeriCorps State and VISTA programs. These statewide programs place approximately 40 AmeriCorps members at nonprofits, government agencies and faith-based institutions to increase financial stability and anti-poverty programming to increase quality of life for Michiganders. Through the AmeriCorps Programs, Andrea provides hiring and managerial support to partnering agencies and trains and leads AmeriCorps members with the skills to be the next generation of community development leaders. Andrea oversees AmeriCorps member recruitment, hiring, and training; host site selection and training; program evaluation; and professional development training curricula.
Prior to her work at CEDAM, Andrea managed the AmeriCorps State Program at Ingham County Health Department for seven years where the program was awarded the 2017 Governor’s Service Award for Outstanding National Service Program. Andrea has also worked with homeless youth as Gateway Community Service’s house manager that involved supervision of shelter staff, local, state and federal compliance to ensure youth safety and connecting youth to human service resources. Andrea is an AmeriCorps Alum, where she started her AmeriCorps journey managing a mentoring program for foster youth with Clinton County MSU Extension.
