Alexis Puente, Policy Intern
As CEDAM’s policy intern, Alexis is responsible for tracking policy at the state and federal level as it relates to and affects our membership’s work. She is also responsible for producing blog posts on policy issues, legislation and important events targeted toward updating our members and those working in the community economic development field.
Alexis is currently double majoring in international relations and Arabic at Michigan State University. Alexis cultivated her research skills and interests through academic coursework and multiple internships at Focus: HOPE, Right to Play and others. Her previous internships in the United States and overseas helped her gain hands on experience in development, coordinated outreach, translation and lobbying. After graduating from Michigan State University, Alexis plans to pursue her master’s degree and PhD in Political Science.
