Expand your reach by becoming a CEDAM AmeriCorps host site

In the community development space, our work is never done. There is always more we could do: more projects we could take on, more groups with which we could collaborate, more residents, families, and communities we could uplift. And yet, our resources are limited. But a CEDAM AmeriCorps member can help, and we’ve expanded our member service activity options to more effectively address your rising and changing needs.

With CEDAM AmeriCorps host site applications opening on February 14, now is the time to consider boosting your capacity by welcoming a CEDAM AmeriCorps member to your organization this September. This year, our members are able to take on a more diverse range of projects, both supporting new initiatives and adding capacity to your existing community development programs. We’re keeping our standard activities like financial education workshops and homeownership program intake and triage and have expanded our member activity options to include general organization capacity building support, community clean up activities, neighborhood group empowerment, housing rehab or building, and more. Additionally, for organizations interested in focusing on expanding free tax preparation services and doing tax credit outreach, CEDAM will be offering a discounted host site fee!

Whether you’re looking to strengthen existing services or taking on a new initiative, we can help you achieve your 2022 goals. By becoming a host site you’ll also be connected with CEDAM’s network of resources and expert support.

Past host site supervisors emphasize the benefits of taking on an AmeriCorps member. “The AmeriCorps program empowers our nonprofit by increasing our confidence to reach our goal by linking us with knowledgeable CEDAM staff,” said Patricia Bosch, host site supervisor at Nortown Community Development Corporation in Detroit. “[CEDAM] empowers us with scripted programming, which strengthens our ability to supervise our AmeriCorps member and carry out our financial literacy outreach programs.”

CEDAM AmeriCorps members are able to serve organizations located across the entire state. Whether you’re in Marquette or the Motor City, we can help you find a member to fit your community’s unique needs.

For those looking for an affordable solution to increase their bandwidth while establishing invaluable connections in the community economic development space, CEDAM AmeriCorps can be a game-changer.

With extra support and expertise available, now is the time to elevate your organization’s offerings to the next level. Host site applications will be open February 14 – March 14. Apply to take the first step toward reaching your full potential!
