The 10th annual Michigan Small Town & Rural Development Conference is April 14-16, 2014 at Crystal Mountain in Thompsonville, MI. We will begin Monday evening with a welcoming reception, continue all day on Tuesday and conclude on Wednesday at 11:30AM. The conference is geared toward those working in and on behalf of small or rural communities in Michigan and is hosted by the Michigan Rural Council.
This year we are excited to offer a pre-conference workshop titled Making Places: Placemaking Strategy Development. Presented by Jim Tischler and Mark Wyckoff, the session will increase participant’s understanding of placemaking principles, and will work through how to apply these strategies to specific geographies and key places in their communities. A session description can be found here. This session will take place on Monday, April 14 from 1:00pm – 4:00pm. To register, please check the box titled “pre-conference placemaking workshop” on the registration form.
