Lobby, Advocate and Network to Win

What is your (or your organization’s) relationship with your state legislators? We all know that in the community economic development industry, it takes a team to build a community and we need support to keep them sustainable. Our legislators play a critical role in ways that affect how you accomplish your missions, and it can be difficult to setup those initial meetings or maintain a connection that has lapsed with term limits.

As a support organization, CEDAM works to advocate on behalf of our members on issues that are relevant to the industry. But to go one step further, we want to help bridge the gap between you and the Michigan senators and representatives so that you can raise your voice on the issues that matter to you most.

Nonprofit Advocacy Day will take place on June 11 from 9am – 4pm in Lansing. This full-day opportunity will train you on effective lobbying and brief you on the current relevant bills. In addition, you will have the opportunity to meet with your legislators so that you can talk more specifically about your agenda. To top it off, you will have the opportunity to network and strengthen relationships with others from across the state in the industry.

Need more proof? See what those who participated in 2009 had to say about the day.

Interested? Sign up today so that we can make sure that you can schedule a meeting with your legislator.
