CEDAM Launches Comprehensive Community Development Institute

CEDAM is pleased to announce the launch of our new training program, beginning in September of 2010. The Comprehensive Community Development Institute (CCDI) is based on CEDAM’s popular Real Estate Development Training (REDT) but features a different module for each experience level. With beginning, intermediate, and advanced courses, CCDI is the complete training program for Michigan’s community development professionals.

Core Concepts: Beginner
CCDI’s beginner course is an Introduction to Real Estate Development and offers a step-by-step look at the real estate development process with direct feedback from lenders, investors, and key partners.  This six-day course is recommended for professionals that are new to the industry or who are first-time developers.

Bricks and Mortar: Intermediate
The intermediate module is made up of three different courses that specifically cover Single-Family, Multi-Family, or Commercial real estate development. This module is recommended for professionals with a project concept in the pre-development stage, as a refresher course for seasoned developers, and/or for beginners who have completed the Core Concepts module of CCDI.

Rigorous Topic Immersion: Advanced
The advanced sessions of CCDI are single day sessions that are intended to address industry concerns and will be intense, thought provoking, and uniquely challenging. These sessions are recommended for organization leaders. Topics include: Green Development and Weatherization, Drafting and Moving Bills in the Michigan Legislature, Succession Planning and Building Indigenous Leadership, Auditing Your PR and Marketing Plan and more!
