The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) is conducting an internal/external recruitment process to fill the following corporate vacancy:
Job Title and Level: Business Strategy Manager
City/County: Lansing/Ingham
Type of Employment: Full-Time
Pay Grade and Annual Salary: Grade 4 begins at $68,800. Additional compensation consideration given based on relevant skills, education and experience.
Brief Job Description:
The Business Strategy Manager is responsible for providing research expertise, analysis and interpretation of complex economic development issues as they relate to various industry sectors in support of the overall Business Development efforts. The individual will research, analyze and interpret data relative to Michigan Economic Development Corporation’s (MEDC’s) policies and programs on the state, federal and international levels on which to base recommendations on creating policies and programs to support industry sectors, clusters and target industries. In addition, this position will compile data and present research results, statistics, trends, best practices and innovative solutions to the Business Development team; identify emerging opportunities; assist in creating and conducting economic impact assessments of various sectors of the Michigan economy; and assist in structuring tools to evaluate the effectiveness of the attraction efforts for the MEDC.

Minimum Education Required:
This position requires a bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in Business, Economics, Finance, Market Research or related fields.
Minimum Experience Required:
This position requires a minimum of three to five years of related experience in research data collection, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, research reporting, and project management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
